ततश्च द्विजवर्यैः स संन्यस्तः पृथिवीपतिः । पृष्टश्च प्रार्थितश्चैव निजराज्यस्य रक्षणे । अन्यस्मिन्दिवसे प्राह कृतांजलिपुटः स्थितः

tataśca dvijavaryaiḥ sa saṃnyastaḥ pṛthivīpatiḥ | pṛṣṭaśca prārthitaścaiva nijarājyasya rakṣaṇe | anyasmindivase prāha kṛtāṃjalipuṭaḥ sthitaḥ

ครั้นแล้ว พระผู้ครองแผ่นดินผู้สละโลกนั้น ถูกพราหมณ์ผู้ประเสริฐทั้งหลายซักถามและวิงวอนอย่างจริงจังให้คุ้มครองราชอาณาจักรของตนเอง ต่อมาในอีกวันหนึ่ง เขายืนประนมมือด้วยความเคารพ แล้วกล่าวขึ้น
