Tirtha: Vindhyācala (Vindhya)
Type: peak
Scene: A divine directive: the Goddess is instructed to go to Vindhya, the excellent mountain, and perform fierce austerities so her tejas may increase before the decisive war.
Tapas (disciplined austerity) is presented as the means by which divine potency (tejas) is intensified for righteous action.
Vindhya—the ‘best of mountains’—is foregrounded as the sacred place where tapas is to be performed.
Perform ‘ugra tapas’ (intense austerity) at Vindhya to augment spiritual power.
