Narrator (contextual Purāṇic narrator within Nāgarakhaṇḍa)
Type: kund
Scene: After her declaration, the virtuous woman enters her house; the blazing fire suddenly collapses into shimmering water, as if the flames liquefy—an astonishment for onlookers.
Purity (śuddhi) protected by divine order: dharma safeguards the righteous, and nature itself is shown to transform in their favor.
The water-filled spot that replaces the fire becomes the nucleus of the tīrtha later declared famous by her name.
Reference to a consecrated fire receiving offerings (huta); it frames the event that leads to the sacred water-site.
