ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | kathaṃ santoṣito brahmā trijātena mahātmanā | karmakāṃḍaṃ kathaṃ bhinnaṃ kṛtaṃ tena mahātmanā | sarvaṃ vistarato brūhi paraṃ kautūhalaṃ hi naḥ
Ṛṣis (Sages)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Sūta (to respond)
Scene: A circle of sages addresses the narrator, hands folded, faces intent; the atmosphere is scholarly; palm-leaf manuscripts and ritual diagrams suggest ‘karmakāṇḍa-bheda’ taxonomy.
True tīrtha-narratives invite inquiry into right practice—how rites are structured and how divine grace is attained through dharma.
This verse is part of the Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya dialogue; the immediate line focuses on ritual explanation rather than naming the site.
It asks about the differentiation/organization of karmakāṇḍa (ritual procedures), implying a structured Vedic ritual framework.
