ūnenāpi hi tucchena vairiṇāpi kathaṃcana | maitrī buddhimatā kāryā āpadyapi nivartate
บัณฑิตพึงผูกไมตรี แม้กับผู้ต่ำต้อยหรือไร้ค่า แม้กับศัตรูก็ตาม; เพราะคราววิบัติ ไมตรีนั้นย่อมช่วยผันภัยให้คลายลงได้
