ऋषयो ज्ञानलिंगं च चिरस्थानेति नाम च । ब्राह्मणा ब्रह्मलिंगं च नाम ज्येष्ठेति तं विदुः

ṛṣayo jñānaliṃgaṃ ca cirasthāneti nāma ca | brāhmaṇā brahmaliṃgaṃ ca nāma jyeṣṭheti taṃ viduḥ

เหล่าฤษีบูชา “ญาณลึงค์” มีนามว่า “จิรสถาน” (สถิตยืนนาน) ส่วนพราหมณ์ทั้งหลายบูชา “พรหมลึงค์” และรู้จักลึงค์นั้นด้วยนาม “เชษฐะ” (ผู้เป็นใหญ่/ผู้เฒ่าที่สุด)
