tadālāpāmṛtadhayau na me śabdagrahau priye | prāṇeśvari tadārabhya syātāṃ śabdāṃtaragrahau

โอ้ที่รัก—โอ้ผู้เป็นนายแห่งลมหายใจของข้า—เมื่อข้าถูกพรากจากน้ำอมฤตแห่งถ้อยสนทนาของนาง หูของข้าก็มิอาจรับเสียงแท้ได้อีก; นับแต่นั้นมันจับได้เพียง ‘เสียงอื่นๆ’ ที่ว่างจากเสียงของนาง
