Skanda
Tirtha: Vṛddhāditya (Kāśī)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Skanda as narrator in a sacred assembly, introducing the Vṛddhāditya-māhātmya; the aura of Kāśī suggested in the background with ghāṭas and temple silhouettes.
Listening with faith to a tīrtha’s māhātmya purifies the mind and restrains one from sinful action.
Vṛddhāditya (a sacred Āditya shrine/tīrtha) within Kāśī (Vārāṇasī).
Śravaṇa—devout hearing of the māhātmya—is presented as the efficacious practice.
