bilvapālāśayordaṃḍo brāhmaṇasya nṛpasya tu | nyagrodhabāladalayoḥ pīlūduṃbarayorviśaḥ

ไม้เท้า (ทัณฑะ) ของพราหมณ์พึงทำด้วยไม้บิลวะหรือปาลาศะ; ของกษัตริย์ (กษัตริยะ) ด้วยไม้นยโครธะหรือบาลทละ; และของไวศยะด้วยไม้ปีลูหรืออุทุมพร.
