विहाय मातरं चैकां सर्वा मंगलवर्जिताः । तदाशिषमपि प्राज्ञस्त्यजेदाशीविषोपमाम्

vihāya mātaraṃ caikāṃ sarvā maṃgalavarjitāḥ | tadāśiṣamapi prājñastyajedāśīviṣopamām

เว้นแต่มารดาเพียงผู้เดียว คนอื่นทั้งหมดถูกกล่าวว่าไร้มงคล; เพราะฉะนั้นแม้คำอวยพรของเขา ผู้มีปัญญาก็ควรละเว้น—ถือเสมือนงูพิษ
