kimatrāgamanaṃ devāḥ sarveṣāṃ vai vivarṇatā | kenāpamānitāḥ sarve śīghraṃ me kathyatāṃ svayam
Brahmā (Padmayoni)
Listener: राजेन्द्र (king addressed)
Scene: Brahmā, voice commanding, questions the gods: why they have come, why they are pale, who has dishonored them; the devas stand humbled and shaken.
Dharma is protected through truthful reporting and clear diagnosis of harm—problems are faced directly, not hidden.
None; the verse is set in Brahmaloka and concerns a cosmic disturbance.
None; it is a direct inquiry initiating the account of oppression.
