उत्पत्तिहेतुरेते च यस्मिन्सर्वं प्रलीयते । सर्वावासीति देवत्वाद्वासुदेवेत्युदाहृतः

utpattiheturete ca yasminsarvaṃ pralīyate | sarvāvāsīti devatvādvāsudevetyudāhṛtaḥ

พระองค์ทรงเป็นเหตุแห่งการบังเกิดของสรรพสิ่ง และสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงย่อมสลายกลับสู่พระองค์; เพราะทรงสถิตอยู่ในทุกผู้ทุกนาม จึงทรงได้รับการขานนามว่า “วาสุเทวะ”
