इत्युक्तः शङ्करस्तेन ब्राह्मणेनातिविस्मितः । उवाच ब्राह्मणं देव इदानीं त्वमितो गतः
ityuktaḥ śaṅkarastena brāhmaṇenātivismitaḥ | uvāca brāhmaṇaṃ deva idānīṃ tvamito gataḥ
เมื่อถูกพราหมณ์ผู้นั้นกล่าวเช่นนั้น ศังกระก็พิศวงยิ่งนัก แล้วพระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสแก่พราหมณ์ว่า “บัดนี้จงบอกเถิด—ท่านมาจากที่ใดถึงมายังที่นี้?”
