Scene: A pilgrim emerges from the river-ford, water streaming from wet garments, then offers bilva leaves, flowers, and lamp to a Śiva-liṅga shrine labeled Aṅkūreśvara; priests and other pilgrims stand with folded hands; the riverbank is lush and sacred.
Pilgrimage and sincere worship at a consecrated tīrtha can grant merits comparable to major Vedic sacrifices.
Aṅkūreśvara Tīrtha, where worship of Śiva as Aṅkūreśvara is praised.
