Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: A maṅgala-āśīrvāda invoking Śiva with His divine family; used as a closing benediction for recitation, aligning the listener with auspiciousness (śam) and grace.
Mantra: सगणस्ससुतस्सांबश्शं करोतु स शंकरः
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It is a benedictory invocation seeking śam (welfare) from Pati (Śiva) along with His śakti (Ambā) and the divine household, affirming that auspiciousness and grace flow from the Lord’s compassionate, saguna presence.
Though brief, it reflects saguna-upāsanā—approaching Śiva as the personal Lord who bestows blessings; such invocations commonly frame Linga worship by requesting auspicious completion and the Lord’s protective presence.
Use it as an opening maṅgala before Linga-pūjā or japa: offer bilva leaves and vibhūti (tripuṇḍra), then chant “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while mentally invoking Śiva with Ambā and Gaṇa for śam (inner peace and auspiciousness).
