Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Teaches that all manifest returns to prakṛti while Śiva alone remains—pilgrimage and worship aim at recognizing the Pati beyond changing tattvas, culminating in grace.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: pralaya / saṃlaya into prakṛti
It teaches that all manifested existence resolves back into Prakṛti at dissolution, while Shiva—the supreme Pati—remains the sole, unchanged Reality beyond all duality.
The Liṅga is revered as the sign of the formless, non-dual Shiva: even when all forms dissolve into Prakṛti, Shiva remains; Liṅga-worship anchors the mind in that eternal substratum behind changing names and forms.
Meditate on Shiva as the one abiding Reality (eka), using japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to withdraw attention from transient prakṛtic modifications toward the inner stillness of Pati.
