दक्षयज्ञदर्शनम् — The Vision of Dakṣa’s Great Sacrifice
and the Onset of Vīrabhadra’s Terror
किंस्विद्भग्नो महामेरुः किंस्वित्संदीर्यते मही । किमिदं किमिदं वेति जजल्पुस्त्रिदशा भृशम्
kiṃsvidbhagno mahāmeruḥ kiṃsvitsaṃdīryate mahī | kimidaṃ kimidaṃ veti jajalpustridaśā bhṛśam
“หรือว่าพระสุเมรุใหญ่แตกสลาย? หรือว่าแผ่นดินกำลังฉีกขาด?”—เหล่าเทวดาต่างร้อนรนร้องซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า “นี่คืออะไร นี่คืออะไร?”
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: Perceived cosmic catastrophe: Meru shattering / earth splitting (apocalyptic omen).
The verse highlights how even the devas become unsettled when cosmic order seems to tremble, pointing (in Shaiva Siddhanta) to the need for refuge in Pati—Lord Shiva—who alone remains unshaken beyond all change.
When creation appears to fracture, the Linga is contemplated as the stable sign of Shiva’s abiding presence—Saguna worship steadies the mind and turns fear into devotion, reminding devotees that Shiva governs dissolution and protection.
A practical takeaway is to steady the mind through japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and maintain Shaiva discipline (bhasma/tripundra and Rudraksha) as supports for inner composure amid outer disturbances.
