FAQs

It affirms the continuity of Devī’s Śakti: Satī re-manifests as Pārvatī to fulfill the divine order and re-establish the auspicious union of Śiva and Śakti, the foundation for dharma and liberation.

By identifying Satī as Pārvatī, the verse supports Saguna devotion: devotees approach Śiva (often as the Liṅga) together with Śakti as Pārvatī, understanding their inseparable reality in worship and grace.

A practical takeaway is to worship Śiva with Śakti-bhāva—japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while offering bilva leaves and maintaining reverence for Devī as Pārvatī, the power enabling steadfast devotion.
