Sukta 1.110

Rishi: Traditionally connected with the Ribhus (or their praise); in RV 1.110 the hymn is to the Ribhus (Saudhanvanas).

Devata: Ribhus (Ṛbhavaḥ), artisan-powers; with an explicit linkage to Savitar as the impelling divine host in this verse.

Chandas: Trishtubh (predominant for RV 1.110).

आभोगयं प्र यदिच्छन्त ऐतनापाकाः प्राञ्चो मम के चिदापयः । सौधन्वनासश्चरितस्य भूमनागच्छत सवितुर्दाशुषो गृहम् ॥

Transliteration

ābhogáyaṃ prá yád icchántá aitán apākā́ḥ prā́ñco máma ké cid ā́payaḥ | sáudhanvanāsaś caritásya bhū́manā́gacchata savitúr dāśúṣo gṛhám ||

Translation

เพื่อแสวงหาความรื่นรมย์อันกว้างใหญ่และความบริบูรณ์ เหล่าผู้ยังไม่สุกงอม (แต่ใฝ่หา) ได้ก้าวไปข้างหน้า; และสายน้ำของข้าพเจ้าบางส่วนก็ไหลออกไปภายนอก. แล้วเหล่าสาวธันวะนะ (Saudhanvanas, ฤภุ) ด้วยความไพศาลแห่งการเคลื่อนไหวที่สำเร็จแล้ว ได้มาถึงเรือนของสวิตฤ (Savitar) ผู้ประทาน ผู้รับเครื่องบูชา.
