इन्द्रजित्–लक्ष्मण संवादः तथा युद्धप्रवृत्तिः

Indrajit and Lakshmana: War-Boasts, Rebuke, and the Clash

पत्रिणःशितधारास्तेकरामत्कार्मुकच्युताः ।।।।आदास्यन्तेऽद्यसौमित्रेजीवितंजीवितान्तकाः ।

patriṇaḥ śita-dhārās te mat-kārmuka-cyutāḥ |

ādāsyante 'dya saumitre jīvitaṁ jīvitāntakāḥ ||

โสมิตรีเอ๋ย ศรมีขนปีกคมกริบเหล่านี้ ที่หลุดจากคันธนูของเรา เป็นศรพรากชีวิต วันนี้จัก夺เอาชีวิตของเจ้า

The verse illustrates adharma in speech: intimidation and certainty of another’s death are used as psychological violence. The Ramayana values satya, but not cruel speech—truthfulness is meant to serve righteousness, not arrogance.

Indrajit taunts the wounded Lakṣmaṇa, claiming his arrows will end Lakṣmaṇa’s life that day.

Lakṣmaṇa’s restraint is implied by contrast: he is the target of threats yet remains within the warrior’s duty rather than collapsing into fear.
