सुतीक्ष्णाश्रमप्रस्थानम्

Departure from Sutikshna’s Hermitage

अथ तेऽग्निं सुरांश्चैव वैदेही रामलक्ष्मणौ।काल्यं विधिवदभ्यर्च्य तपस्विशरणे वने।।3.8.3।।उदयन्तं दिनकरं दृष्ट्वा विगतकल्मषाः।सुतीक्ष्णभिगम्येदं श्लक्ष्णं वचनमब्रुवन्।।3.8.4।।

atha te ’gniṃ surāṃś caiva vaidehī rāma-lakṣmaṇau | kālyaṃ vidhivad abhyarcya tapasvi-śaraṇe vane || udayantaṃ dinakaraṃ dṛṣṭvā vigata-kalmaṣāḥ | sutīkṣṇam abhigamya idaṃ ślakṣṇaṃ vacanam abruvan ||

แล้วพระนางไวเทหี (สีดา) พระราม และพระลักษมณ์ ในป่าอันเป็นที่พึ่งของเหล่าฤๅษี ได้บูชาไฟศักดิ์สิทธิ์และเทพทั้งหลายยามเช้าตามครรลองพิธี ครั้นทอดพระเนตรสุริยะอุทัยแล้ว ปราศจากมลทินทั้งปวง จึงเสด็จไปหาฤๅษีสุทิกษณะ และกราบทูลถ้อยคำอ่อนโยน

FAQs

Dharma is shown as reverence toward sacred powers (Agni, devas, Sun) and toward realized teachers (ṛṣis). Right action is performed first, and speech is made gentle and appropriate afterward.

After completing morning worship in the ascetics’ forest refuge, Rāma, Sītā, and Lakṣmaṇa approach the sage Sutikṣṇa to speak and seek leave for onward travel.

Humility and reverence: they approach a sage only after completing prescribed duties and with courteous speech.
