Concept: Ritual efficacy is linked to kāla (sacred time); aligning śrāddha with cosmic junctions harmonizes human duty with solar-lunar order.

Application: Plan remembrance rites and charitable acts on calendrical junctions (amāvasyā/saṅkrānti) with mindfulness; use them as periodic resets for gratitude and restraint.

FAQs

It lists specific calendrical moments—solstices, equinoxes, new moon, solar ingress, and certain lunar days—treated as especially potent for rites such as worship, vows, charity, or ancestral offerings (depending on the surrounding context).

Both mark transitions: saṃkrānti is a solar transition and amāvasyā is a lunar junction. Purāṇic traditions frequently regard such liminal times as spiritually efficacious for purification, dāna (charity), and vrata (vows).

It encourages intentionality—aligning one’s religious duties with auspicious times—suggesting discipline, remembrance, and timely performance of beneficial acts like worship and giving.
