Narada (instructional narration within Uttara-Bhaga Tirtha-Mahatmya discourse; traditionally framed in Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"bhakti","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_journey":"Begins with a firm exclusion of the devadrohī from ritual fruit, then elevates the mood into devotional reverence: darśana is meritorious, sparśa is even more intimate and efficacious."}
It teaches that ritual merit depends on inner disposition: hostility toward the devas disqualifies a person from receiving the intended karmaphala, while reverent darśana—and even more, sacred contact—generates puṇya.
Bhakti is not mere external performance; it requires reverence and non-offense. Honoring divine presence through darśana and respectful proximity (sparśa) reflects a devotional attitude that makes worship and pilgrimage spiritually effective.
It highlights the ritual principle of adhikāra (eligibility) in karma-kāṇḍa: the performer’s conduct and attitude (avoidance of deva-droha/apacāra) condition whether a rite yields its stated result.
