Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta (peace)","secondary_rasa":"bhakti (devotion)","emotional_journey":"A calm corrective teaching: saluting a junior is not blameworthy, culminating in praise of the dvija’s Vedic-Vedanga mastery and tapas-stability."}
It teaches that humility is not diminished by status: even greeting a junior is not दोष (improper). True spiritual stature is measured by Vedic mastery and steadiness in tapas, not by social pride.
By emphasizing humility and disciplined conduct, it supports the inner mood required for bhakti—egoless reverence and self-restraint—where learning and austerity mature into sincere devotional character.
The verse points to competence in the Vedāṅgas—Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, Chandas, Nirukta, Jyotiṣa, and Kalpa—as practical disciplines that support correct recitation, interpretation, timing, and performance of Vedic rites.
