FAQs

The verse presents atithi-sevā (reverent hospitality) as a direct form of dharma: the sage considers his life’s obligations fulfilled when the divine guest is fed, showing that service and offering food are spiritually meritorious acts.

It frames devotion as tangible service—honoring the divine not only through praise but through care and nourishment—reflecting bhakti expressed as seva and offerings made with reverence.

It aligns with kalpa-style ritual conduct: proper guest reception and the dharmic protocol of feeding a revered visitor, emphasizing correct practice (ācāra) as part of religious discipline.
