Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse highlights humility (daṇḍavat-praṇāma) as the proper spiritual posture before receiving instruction or grace; only after reverent surrender does the divine figure invite the seeker to state his desire.
Bhakti begins with reverence and self-offering; Gautama’s full prostration models śaraṇāgati (taking refuge), after which the compassionate deity responds by asking what boon or guidance he seeks.
It reflects śiṣṭācāra (learned conduct) used in ritual and pedagogical settings—formal obeisance and respectful dialogue—an applied discipline supporting śikṣā (proper recitation/behavior) and kalpa-style ritual etiquette.
