Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates dāna (charitable giving) into a liberating act: supporting a needy family with sustaining wealth (milk-yielding animals) is taught as generating such puṇya that it cuts the chain of worldly rebirth.
Though not naming a deity here, the verse reflects bhakti-informed dharma: compassion, protection, and service to the vulnerable are treated as sacred offerings, aligning one’s life with the puranic ethic that pleases the divine through righteous conduct.
Ritual practicality is implied rather than technical Vedanga: it points to dāna-vidhi (rules of gifting)—choosing a worthy recipient (daridra kuṭumbin) and a sustaining gift (payasvinī ajāḥ) to maximize dharmic fruit.
