Adhyaya 22 — Kuvalayashva’s Death through Daitya-Deceit and Madalasa’s Self-Immolation
शोचतां बान्धवानां ये निःश्वसन्तोऽतिदुःखिताः ।
म्रियन्ते व्याधिना क्लिष्टास्तेषां माता वृथाप्रजा ॥
śocatāṃ bāndhavānāṃ ye niḥśvasanto 'tiduḥkhitāḥ | mriyante vyādhinā kliṣṭās teṣāṃ mātā vṛthāprajā ||
ผู้ใดเมื่อญาติพี่น้องกำลังโศกเศร้า กลับตายในความทุกข์—ถอนใจ คร่ำครวญอย่างยิ่ง และถูกรุมเร้าด้วยโรคภัย—สำหรับบุรุษเช่นนั้น ความเป็นมารดาของมารดาย่อมไร้ผล
