Educational Q&A

The verse uses nature as a moral mirror: when violence and bloodshed pervade human action, even the sky’s appearance seems corrupted, suggesting that adharma leaves visible and psychological traces in the world.

A wind lifts dust that is mixed with blood, and the airborne red dust makes the sun’s rays look intensely red, heightening the scene’s grim, ominous atmosphere.
