रावण–मारीचसंवादः तथा मृगप्रलोभनपूर्वकं सीताहरणोपक्रमः

न तत्र विप्र गच्छन्ति पुरुषा विषयात्मका: । दम्भलोभमहाक्रो धमोहद्रोहैरभिद्रुता:,विप्रवर! जिनका मन विषयोंमें रचा-पचा रहता है, वे लोग वहाँ नहीं जा सकते। दम्भ, लोभ, महाक्रोध, मोह और द्रोहसे युक्त मनुष्य भी वहाँ नहीं पहुँच सकते

na tatra vipra gacchanti puruṣā viṣayātmakāḥ | dambha-lobha-mahākrodha-moha-drohair abhidrūtāḥ ||

ทูตเทพกล่าวว่า “โอ พราหมณ์! ผู้ที่จิตหมกมุ่นในอารมณ์แห่งประสาทสัมผัสย่อมไม่ไปถึงแดนนั้น และผู้ถูกครอบงำด้วยความเสแสร้ง ความโลภ โทสะอันใหญ่ ความหลง และความพยาบาท ก็ไม่อาจบรรลุได้”
