Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault

The verse highlights how, amid mass warfare, perceived “true manliness” or heroic stature can be attributed to a single figure—inviting reflection on how valor and leadership are judged, and how such judgments may coexist with (or ignore) broader ethical failings.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra his assessment of the battlefield: despite the presence of thousands of fighters on both sides, he felt Duryodhana alone appeared preeminent in heroic resolve at that moment.
