Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault
संजय कहते हैं--महाराज! रथपर बैठा हुआ रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ आपका प्रतापी पुत्र दुर्योधन रुद्रदेवके समान युद्धमें शत्रुओंके लिये दुःसह प्रतीत होने लगा ।। तस्य बाणसहसैस्तु प्रच्छन्ना हुभवन्मही । परांश्न॒ सिषिचे बाणैर्धाराभिरिव पर्वतान्,उसके सहस्रों बाणोंसे वहाँकी सारी पृथ्वी आच्छादित हो गयी। जैसे मेघ जलकी धाराओंसे पर्वतको सींचते हैं, उसी प्रकार वह शत्रुओंको अपनी बाणधारासे नहलाने लगा
sañjaya uvāca—mahārāja! rathopaviṣṭo rathināṃ śreṣṭhas tava pratāpī putro duryodhanaḥ rudradeva-samo yuddhe śatrūṇāṃ duḥsaha iva babhūva. tasya bāṇa-sahasrais tu pracchannābhavan mahī; parān siṣice bāṇair dhārābhir iva parvatān.
ด้วยศรนับพันของเขา พื้นพิภพ ณ ที่นั้นถูกปกคลุมไปสิ้น; และดุจเมฆโปรยสายฝนรดภูผา เขาก็สาดสายศรใส่ฝ่ายตรงข้ามไม่ขาดสาย
