Nāradasya Rājadharma-praśnāḥ

कच्चिद्‌ धर्मे त्रयीमूले पूर्वराचरिते जनै: । यतमानस्तथा कर्तु तस्मिन्‌ कर्मणि वर्तसे,तीनों वेद ही जिसके मूल हैं और पूर्वपुरुषोंने जिसका आचरण किया है, उस धर्मका अनुष्ठान करनेके लिये तुम अपने पूर्वजोंकी ही भाँति प्रयत्नशील तो रहते हो? धर्मानुकूल कर्ममें ही तुम्हारी प्रवृत्ति तो रहती है?

kaccid dharme trayīmūle pūrvarācarite janaiḥ | yatamānas tathā kartu tasmin karmaṇi vartase ||

นารทกล่าวว่า “ท่านเพียรพยายามปฏิบัติตามธรรมะที่มีไตรเวทเป็นรากฐาน และเป็นธรรมะที่ชนโบราณได้ประพฤติสืบมาแล้วหรือไม่? ท่านยังคงดำเนินอยู่ในกิจอันสอดคล้องกับธรรมะนั้นเอง พยายามกระทำดังเช่นบรรพชนของท่านหรือไม่?”
