खाण्डवदाहे देवविमुखता तथा मयदानवाभयदानम् | Khāṇḍava Burning: Devas Withdraw; Maya Granted Protection
किमिदं कुरुथाप्रज्ञास्तृष्णीं भूते जनार्दने । अस्य भावमविज्ञाय संक्रुद्धा मोधगर्जिता:,“मूर्खो! श्रीकृष्ण तो चुपचाप बैठे हैं, तुम यह क्या कर रहे हो? इनका अभिप्राय जाने बिना ही तुम इतने कुपित हो उठे। तुमलोगोंकी यह गर्जना व्यर्थ ही है
kim idaṃ kuruthā-prajñās tṛṣṇīṃ bhūte janārdane | asya bhāvam avijñāya saṃkruddhā mogha-garjitāḥ ||
พวกผู้มีปัญญาน้อยเอ๋ย! เมื่อชนารทนะยังนิ่งสงบอยู่ ไฉนพวกเจ้าจึงกระทำเช่นนี้? มิได้รู้เจตนาของท่านกลับโกรธเกรี้ยวลุกโพลง; เสียงคำรามของพวกเจ้านั้นไร้ผลสิ้นดี
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Do not react in anger without grasping the other’s intention; loud aggression without understanding is ethically empty and ultimately ineffective, whereas composure and discernment guide right action.
The speaker rebukes some agitated people who are shouting in anger even though Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana) is sitting silently; they have not understood his purpose and are therefore making a pointless uproar.
