Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 146 — Brāhmaṇī’s counsel on grief, duty, and protection of children
युधिछिर उवाच इह यत्तैर्निराकारैर्वस्तव्यमिति रोचये । अप्रमत्तैविचिन्वद्धिर्गतिमिष्टां ध्ुवामित:,युधिष्ठिर बोले--भाई! हमलोगोंको यहाँ अपनी बाह्य चेष्टाओंसे मनकी बात प्रकट न करते हुए और यहाँसे भाग छूटनेके लिये मनो<नुकूल निश्चित मार्गका पता लगाते हुए पूरी सावधानीके साथ यहीं रहना चाहिये। मुझे ऐसा करना ही अच्छा लगता है
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | iha yattair nirākārair vastavyam iti rocaye | apramattair vicinvadbhiḥ gatim iṣṭāṃ dhruvām itaḥ ||
ยุธิษฐิระกล่าวว่า “น้องเอ๋ย เราควรพำนักอยู่ที่นี่โดยให้กิริยาภายนอกไม่เผยความในใจ และต้องตื่นตัวระวังภัยอยู่เสมอ คอยสืบเสาะหนทางที่แน่นอนและเป็นมงคลเพื่อหลบหนีออกจากที่นี่ ข้าเห็นว่านี่แหละเหมาะสมที่สุด”
