Sukta 3

प्राचीं॑प्राचीं प्र॒दिश॒मा र॑भेथामे॒तं लो॒कं श्र॒द्दधा॑नाः सचन्ते । यद् वां॑ प॒क्वं परि॑विष्टम॒ग्नौ तस्य॒ गुप्त॑ये दंपती॒ सं श्र॑येथाम्

prā́cīṁ-prā́cīṁ pradíśam ā́ rabhéthām etáṁ lokáṁ śraddádhānāḥ sacante | yád vā́ṁ pakváṁ parivíṣṭam agnáu tásya gúptaye dampatī́ sáṁ śrayethām ||

Eastward—still eastward—seize ye the quarter; unto this world the faithful cleave and follow. What for you twain is cooked and duly served about in the Fire, for the guarding of that, O Husband and Wife, together take your station.

ไปทางทิศตะวันออก—ยิ่งไปทางทิศตะวันออก—จงยึดทิศนั้นไว้ให้มั่น; ผู้มีศรัทธายึดเหนี่ยวโลกนี้และติดตามไป. สิ่งใดที่ปรุงเพื่อท่านทั้งสองในอัคนี (Agni) และจัดถวายโดยรอบตามพิธีแล้ว เพื่อการคุ้มครองสิ่งนั้น โอ้สามีและภรรยา จงเข้ารวมกันและตั้งมั่นอยู่ร่วมกันเถิด.
