Related Themes: Agni Purana 88 (Pūjā-vidhi sections on nyāsa/āvāhana/tarpaṇa)
It prescribes a standardized Shaiva worship sequence—performing pūjā-acts on the model of the Nivṛtti-rite, then āvāhana (formal invocation/installation) of Sadāśiva, followed by pūjana (worship) and tarpaṇa/pratārpaṇa (satiatory offerings).
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s procedural ritual literature: alongside myths and theology, it preserves step-by-step liturgical instructions (pūjā-krama) used in domestic and temple contexts, reflecting its broad compendium style.
By invoking and properly satisfying Sadāśiva through correct ritual sequence, the practitioner aligns worship with prescribed purity and order, which is traditionally held to yield merit (puṇya), purification, and successful completion (siddhi) of the rite.
