Related Themes: Agni Purana 59 (kara/anga-nyasa progression)
It teaches akṣara-nyāsa: assigning specific syllables (ḍa, ṭha, ṭa, ña) to specific bodily loci (eyes, tongue, nose, speech) as part of mantra-ritual practice.
Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana preserves practical ritual-technology—tantric-style mantra application through bodily mapping (nyāsa), showing its wide coverage of worship procedures and esoteric disciplines.
Nyāsa is intended to sacralize the practitioner’s senses and speech, aligning perception and utterance with mantra-power for purification, steadiness in worship, and effective japa/ritual performance.
