ततो देवान् पितॄन् भक्त्या पूजयित्वा विचक्षणः । पुत्रं चार्जुनकं स्थाप्य स्वसन्ताने महातपाः ॥ ८.४० ॥

tato devān pitṝn bhaktyā pūjayitvā vicakṣaṇaḥ | putraṃ cārjunakaṃ sthāpya svasantāne mahātapāḥ || 8.40 ||

ఆ తరువాత ఆ విచక్షణుడైన మహాతపస్వి భక్తితో దేవతలనూ పితృదేవతలనూ పూజించాడు; మరియు తన సంతానంలో కుమారుడు అర్జునకుని స్థాపించి (వారసుడిగా నియమించాడు).
