FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic strategy of mapping specific existential problems (saṁsāra as an 'ocean' and fear of moral fault) to emblematic avatāra-forms, illustrating how narrative theology and ethical psychology are linked in medieval Sanskrit textual culture.

No explicit geographic toponym appears in this verse; the imagery is cosmological/metaphorical (the 'ocean of bhava' as saṁsāra) rather than a named sacred site.

The verse presents a philosophical instruction about selecting an appropriate contemplative or devotional focus: confronting entanglement in worldly existence through the Varāha paradigm of rescue, and confronting fear of wrongdoing through the Narasiṁha paradigm of protection and removal of fear.
