Varaha Purana 128.84 — Adhyaya 128, Shloka 84

Rites for the comb, collyrium, and mirror; initiations for the four social orders; and the Gaṇāntikā vow/insignia

भक्ष्याभक्ष्यं ततस्त्यक्त्वा त्यक्त्वा वै शूद्रकर्म च ॥ एवं वदेत् ततो देवं शूद्रो दीक्षाभिकाङ्क्षिणम् ।

bhakṣyābhakṣyaṃ tatas tyaktvā tyaktvā vai śūdra-karma ca || evaṃ vadet tato devaṃ śūdro dīkṣābhikāṅkṣiṇam

అనంతరం భక్ష్య-అభక్ష్యములను విడిచి, శూద్రకర్మను కూడా త్యజించి, దీక్షను కోరే శూద్రుడు దేవుని ఈ విధంగా సంబోధించవలెను।
