अस्मिन्स्थाने सदा तिष्ठ मुनीनां हितकाम्यया । कंटकाः शोषिता दैत्यास्तेन कंटकशोषिणी । अद्यप्रभृति नामास्तु तेन देवि सदा त्विह
asminsthāne sadā tiṣṭha munīnāṃ hitakāmyayā | kaṃṭakāḥ śoṣitā daityāstena kaṃṭakaśoṣiṇī | adyaprabhṛti nāmāstu tena devi sadā tviha
మునుల హితకాంక్షతో, హే దేవీ, నీవు ఈ స్థలమున సదా నిలిచియుండుము. నీవు దైత్యరూప ‘కంటక’ములను శోషించి (నశింపజేసి) యున్నావు; అందువల్ల ఇక్కడ నీ నామము ‘కంటకశోషిణీ’ అగుగాక. ఈ దినమునుండి, హే దేవీ, అదే నీ నామమై ఇక్కడ నిత్యము నివసించుము.
