नरस्त्रीबालवृद्धेषु दह्यमानेषु सर्वतः । निर्दयं ज्वलते वह्निर्हाहाकारो महानभूत् । काचिच्च सुखसंसुप्ताप्रमत्तान्या नृपोत्तम
narastrībālavṛddheṣu dahyamāneṣu sarvataḥ | nirdayaṃ jvalate vahnirhāhākāro mahānabhūt | kācicca sukhasaṃsuptāpramattānyā nṛpottama
పురుషులు, స్త్రీలు, పిల్లలు, వృద్ధులు అన్నివైపులా దహించబడుతుండగా, అగ్ని నిర్దయగా జ్వలించి ‘హా హా’ అనే మహా ఆర్తనాదం లేచింది. అయినా కొందరు సుఖంగా నిద్రించగా, మరికొందరు నిర్లక్ష్యంగా ఉన్నారు—ఓ నృపోత్తమా।
