Tattva Level: pasha
Role: teaching
It highlights that even exalted beings like Indra can be veiled by Śiva’s Māyā; true discernment arises only when the Lord’s grace removes delusion, teaching humility and reliance on Śiva as the supreme Pati.
Śiva’s Māyā governs perception in the manifested (saguṇa) realm; worship of Śiva—especially in Linga form as the accessible sign of the transcendent—purifies the mind and leads the devotee beyond भ्रम (confusion) toward the Lord’s reality.
Cultivate japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady bhakti and self-inquiry to overcome māyika bewilderment; maintain śiva-smaraṇa (remembrance of Śiva) as the antidote to pride and misapprehension.
