युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

पुण्डरीकमवाप्नोति कुलं चैव समुद्धरेत्‌ । उष्यैकां रजनीं तत्र गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्‌,ऐसा करनेवाला मनुष्य पुण्डरीकयज्ञका फल पाता और अपने कुलका उद्धार कर देता है। वहाँ एक रात निवास करनेसे सहस्र गोदानका फल मिलता है

puṇḍarīkam avāpnoti kulaṃ caiva samuddharet | uṣy ekāṃ rajanīṃ tatra go-sahasra-phalaṃ labhet ||

ఇలా చేసినవాడు పుండరీక యజ్ఞఫలాన్ని పొందుతాడు; తన కులాన్నికూడా ఉద్ధరిస్తాడు. అక్కడ ఒక రాత్రి నివసిస్తే సహస్ర గోదాన ఫలంతో సమానమైన పుణ్యఫలం లభిస్తుంది.
