नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

दिवसप्रतिमा राजन्‌ बभूव रणमूर्थनि । भरतभूषण नरेश! प्रदीपोंसे प्रकाशित हुई वह रात्रि युद्धके मुहानेपर दिनके समान हो गयी थी

divasapratimā rājan babhūva raṇamūrdhani | bharatabhūṣaṇa nareśa pradīpaiḥ prakāśitā sā rātriḥ yuddhamukhē dine samā babhūva |

సంజయుడు పలికెను—రాజా, యుద్ధరంగపు ముందుభాగంలో ఆ రాత్రి దీపాల వెలుగుతో పగలువలె కనిపించింది. భరతభూషణ నరేశా, సమరముఖంలో చీకటి తొలగిపోయింది; యుద్ధమే నిరంతర జాగ్రత్తను, అచంచల సంకల్పాన్ని కోరుతున్నట్లుగా అనిపించింది.
