निर्दिष्टं ब्राह्मणानां वै शूद्राणां मन्त्रवर्जितम् ॥ नेमिना च कृतं श्राद्धं ततः प्रभृति वै द्विजाः ॥

nirdiṣṭaṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ vai śūdrāṇāṃ mantravarjitam || neminā ca kṛtaṃ śrāddhaṃ tataḥ prabhṛti vai dvijāḥ ||

பிராமணர்களுக்கு (மந்திரங்களுடன்) இது விதிக்கப்பட்டது; சூத்ரர்களுக்கு மந்திரமின்றி செய்யவேண்டும் எனக் கூறப்பட்டது. நேமி ச்ராத்தம் செய்தான்; அதன்பின் த்விஜர்கள் இம்முறையைப் பின்பற்றினர்।
