सा श्रुत्वा भर्तृनिधनमर्जुनाच्च महासती । गंगातीरे समुत्पाद्य पावकं पावकप्रभा । समुत्सृज्य महाकायं नदीभूत्वा विनिर्ययौ
sā śrutvā bhartṛnidhanamarjunācca mahāsatī | gaṃgātīre samutpādya pāvakaṃ pāvakaprabhā | samutsṛjya mahākāyaṃ nadībhūtvā viniryayau
அர்ஜுனனிடமிருந்து கணவனின் மரணத்தை கேட்ட அந்த மகாசதி—அக்னிபோல் ஒளிர்வாள்—கங்கைக் கரையில் தீயை மூட்டினாள். தன் பெரும் உடலைத் துறந்து, நதியாகி வெளியேறினாள்.
