तासां तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा दक्षः कोपमुपागतः । गत्वा चंद्रं महादेवि शशाप प्रमुखे स्थितम्
tāsāṃ tadvacanaṃ śrutvā dakṣaḥ kopamupāgataḥ | gatvā caṃdraṃ mahādevi śaśāpa pramukhe sthitam
அவர்களின் சொற்களை கேட்ட தக்ஷன் கோபத்தில் ஆழ்ந்தான். மகாதேவியே! அவன் சந்திரனிடம் சென்று, முன் நின்ற சந்திரனை நேருக்கு நேர் சபித்தான்.
