yenāmṛtaṃ hṛtaṃ vīryātparibhūya puraṃdaram | mātṛbhaktiparītena sarpāṇāṃ saṃniveditam
Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pilgrimage audience
Scene: Garuḍa in full divine eagle form snatches the amṛta vessel, Indra (Purandara) humbled; then Garuḍa, reverent and gentle, offers the amṛta onward for his mother’s sake—showing power tempered by devotion.
Mātṛbhakti is upheld as a high dharma: even immense power is directed toward filial duty and righteous purpose.
The Suparṇa Māhātmya frame is continued; the tīrtha’s greatness is reflected by recalling Garuḍa’s famed deeds linked to that sacred tradition.
No direct prescription; it recounts the amṛta episode as a dharma-illustration within the māhātmya.
